Frequently asked questions
See answers to frequently asked questions below:
Does Red Arc accept household waste?
While Red Arc can accept household waste, due to the high costs associated with hazardous waste disposal, we generally recommend you check with your city or county to see if your local government offers HHW collection services.
Can you guys take ______?
We are authorized and equipped to handle any industrial or hazardous waste. The only materials we cannot handle directly are radioactives, explosives and biohazard wastes, however we do have relationships with third parties who can help with these.
Does Red Arc offer emergency response or industrial services?
We contract with several emergency spill response companies to cover ourselves and our customers for incidents related to routine waste handling, and our team can handle limited industrial service projects depending on the scope. Our focus is on making waste proper disposal accessible. There are a lot of companies that do ER and industrial services well, but few outside of the large waste companies competently handle hazardous waste disposal. Feel free to reach out to sales if you have any questions about a project and we will tell you if it is something we can handle, or otherwise point you in the right direction.
Is there a recycle or reuse option for my waste?
Red Arc recycles many wastes including, but not limited to, batteries, electronics, light bulbs, used oil, oily waste waters, hazardous wastes bearing valuable metals and fuels. Large quantities of homogenous waste streams can sometimes be re-used if there is a big enough market for the material or by-product, but this is very case by case.
What does Red Arc do with my waste?
The final disposition of a waste stream is highly dependent on the hazards associated with the material itself. The EPA outlines treatment standards for hazardous characteristics as well as specific hazardous constituents. All waste that we pick up comes back to our transfer yard to be routed to the disposal facility best equipped to treat the specific hazards associated with each waste stream. We always consider our customer's sustainability goals, budget and time constraints when assigning process codes to waste. One of our goals is complete transparency, educating customers about the different treatments available for their waste and giving them a better understanding of how their waste is managed when it leaves their site.
